We should all be shocked at how much corporate behavior is influenced by taxing entities.
Come to think of it, we should all be shocked at how much our own personal behavior is influenced by taxing entities.
We are but dogs, and taxing entities are Pavlov.
Ring a bell?

I really enjoy your intelligent forays into comic-dom. With your embarrassingly deep knowledge of the corporate world, and its inherent absurdities, you weave a super witty and smart comic! Bravo (hoisting Colt 45, oh and my beer)

Thank you, Wilt. Since you are a cartoonist I admire immensely, your compliment means a lot to me.
I wish I did not know so much about the corporate world, but as the generic writing advice goes: write about what you know.
What choice do we have, really?
Thank you again!

You’re a great lady, Anne, but if I hear you’re not giving Rev Canada their fair due, I will denounce you in a picosecond.😃

Fear not, I am pretty sure that I pay extra taxes, just to be on the safe side!

Heh, we all pay extra taxes. (cough) Gas at 1.71 litre today.

(( Tries unsuccessfully to do the liter-to-gallon conversion simultaneously with the $CAN to $US conversion )) Wow! That’s like $87 dollars an ounce!
Or something like that.

When it comes to taxes, “pay early and pay often” is my motto. I would not survive 20 seconds in federal prison.

Me too. It has kept me from going very far in life. If only I was unscrupulous, I could have been a millionaire by now!

I know right? But at least I don’t worry about keeping my story straight.

Fun fact, apropos of nothing: under Queen Anne’s reign, the wallpaper tax was introduced in Great Britain in 1712. Patterned, printed, or painted wallpaper was taxed at 1d per square yard.
Given that, I think you can cut Anne some slack, even though she’s Canadian and the other Anne was British.
(I may have gotten too much sun today.)

It seems that the richer a person is, the better they are at avoiding taxes. I wish I had that problem! 😉

The fact is, loopholes are for the rich, cheating is for the not so rich.

And paying taxes unquestioningly is the domain of the middle classes and lower. None of us wants to go to “the joint” and to become someone’s b*#&@. That would be like adultery, since we are the government’s b*#&@.

You and me both! I not only can’t avoid them, they stalk me, hunt me down, and tear into me like a pack of jackals.

You know, if I had an offshore account, it would be overdrawn. 🤓

I would open up an offshore account if they offered me a free toaster. Otherwise, I’ll just keep my booty in the mattress.
