I stumbled across this gem while on my many meanderings around YouTube.
I have always been a big fan of Rick, even before the whole “rick rolled” phenomenon. I remember liking his music when I first heard it somewhere way back in the 1980s. He has a phenomenally soulful voice that sometimes seems at odds with his squeaky-clean “teen pop idol” appearance.
It’s fun watching him poke fun at himself in this video. It is part Mr. Bean, part Basil Fawlty, and part Mr. Hulot. I love it!
This is dedicated to the people in our lives who “make us”.
He needs to strap a giant chair to the top of that thing for full effect!

Ha ha! I would love seeing that. Maybe he’ll read this someday and put out an updated video.

it makes sense to me that you are a fan of Basil Fawlty. John Cleese is a legend

He is indeed! And I believe I have somehow become Basil Fawlty. Through no fault of my own, of course. It was thrust upon me.

I like that song. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before.

I’m so glad you liked it, Candice. I’d never heard of it, either. That’s why I wanted to share it with everyone.

Fun post! I was almost run over by an electric milk truck in England! They glide about silently.
M Hulot’s Playtime is in my top 10 along with Court Jester.

Thanks, Wilt! Sorry about the milk truck, though. I understand they passed laws in some places saying that electric vehicles had to make “fake” engine noises so that people could hear them coming. I personally think we should be making our own fake engine noises just like we did when we were kids riding our bicycles. The world would be a better place for it (albeit slightly spit splattered).
I LOVE the Mr. Hulot movies! I need to go back and watch them. It has been decades, unfortunately, since I saw them.

You made me smile with that witticism about engine sounds. You rule boi, as my daughter says

Awesome! Dig the cassette and the hair. Great tune.

Thank you! I thought it was awesome, too. Sometimes I miss cassette tapes, though I hate rewinding them or fast-forwarding to the next song. But other than that, there was just something very cool and satisfying about them.

There is an episode of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson does a road test for these ‘cars’ that is fun… Ahh.. thank you YouTube… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQh56geU0X8

Where would we be without YouTube? I mean, other than out living a full, productive life in the sunshine and fresh air? Ha ha!

A pretty nice tune. That car though… 😀

Looks very unstable, doesn’t it? I wouldn’t want to corner in that thing doing over about 20 MPH.

It literally looks like it’s just missing its front wheels and somehow hovering around.

It does! I kept expecting it to kind of roll over and scrape the front corners of the car every time it went around a corner.
