Here is my quote for Day 2:
“Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put.”
— Winston Churchill
I love Winston Churchill. The man was a quote machine. He said so many things that were absolutely brilliant and that cut through complexities to reveal underlying truths, and he said these things with eloquence and humor.
But I don’t love him just because he is one of the most quotable people in all of history.
No, I love him because he was one of the saviors of Western democracy when it was quite literally under assault by dark forces from all over the globe. We are, all of us, the beneficiaries of his heroic defense of democracy and freedom. He was steadfast and ferocious in his defense of the people he was chosen to lead, and in his support of the young men and women he was compelled by circumstance to put into harm’s way.
Was he perfect? No. None of us are. But when History called him to stand up and lead the fight for freedom, he did not shrink from the task.
I encourage you to Google “Winston Churchill quotes”. I think you will be amazed.

Who Nominated Me:
I’d like to thank Billy Mac for nominating me. Billy Mac is a huge inspiration to me and on days when I’m feeling a little whiny and complain-y I will think of the courage and strength he has to exhibit … every … single … day. But even more than that, he is a great writer and has a great sense of humor and it’s always a pleasure to visit his site. I invite you to check out his blog, Superman cant find a phone booth.
